Add a training course
A training course is a piece of training that a person might complete (CPR, working at heights, manual handling). Each course carries a default validity period so SteadyOn knows when an enrollment expires.
- From the sidebar, open Training.
- Click + Training course. The wizard opens.
- Fill in:
- Title —
Workplace First Aid (CPR + AED). - Description — provider, level, what it covers.
- Default validity (months) — how long the certification is good for. SteadyOn uses this to compute expiry on enrollments.
- Title —
- Save.
Validity values to know
Section titled “Validity values to know”Common NZ training validity periods:
| Course | Default validity |
|---|---|
| Workplace First Aid | 24 months |
| Working at Heights | 24 months |
| Forklift OSH licence | Ongoing (set as no expiry) |
| Confined space entry | 24–36 months |
| Manual handling | 24 months (varies by employer) |
Don’t take this list as gospel — confirm with your provider for the specific course you’re tracking.
No-expiry courses
Section titled “No-expiry courses”For courses that don’t expire (e.g. an OSH forklift licence is held for life unless surrendered):
- Leave Default validity blank.
- On each enrollment, leave the expiry date blank too.
The enrollment’s BRAG stays blue (“not applicable”) instead of tracking expiry.
Once the course exists
Section titled “Once the course exists”Make it a requirement on roles that need it (see Add a role → Requirements tab), and enrol people in it as they complete training.
