Customise lookup values

Every dropdown in SteadyOn — hazard status, incident type, action priority, severity, and many more — is backed by a lookup. Lookups are fully customisable per organisation.

  1. From the sidebar bottom dock, click Organisation Settings.
  2. Open the Configuration tab.
  3. In the left rail, pick Lookups.
  4. Pick a lookup domain (e.g. Hazard status, Incident type).
  5. Edit values inline:
    • Rename — click a value’s label and type the new name.
    • Recolour — click the colour swatch to pick a new tone.
    • Reorder — drag a value to a new position.
    • Retire — click the kebab menu (⋯) on a row → Retire. Retired values still appear on existing records but can’t be picked on new records.
    • Add — click + Value at the bottom of the list.
  6. Changes save as you make them.

Common ones include:

  • Hazard status — Open, Under review, Closed, etc.
  • Hazard type — Slip/Trip/Fall, Mechanical, Chemical, …
  • Likelihood and Severity — Rare to Almost certain, Insignificant to Severe.
  • Incident status — Reported, Under investigation, Closed.
  • Incident type — Injury, Near-miss, Property damage, Notifiable.
  • Action status — Open, In progress, Completed, Verified.
  • Action type — Corrective, Preventive.
  • Action priority — Urgent, High, Medium, Low.
  • Inspection category — Fire safety, Equipment, etc.
  • Retire when the value has been used in the past and you don’t want it on new records. Old records keep showing it.
  • Delete only when nothing has ever used the value (e.g. you added it by mistake). The list will refuse to delete a value that’s in use.

Some lookup domains let you set a BRAG level per value (typically status lookups). For example, a custom status Resolved could be set to BRAG Blue so it’s treated as closed. This is what lets you customise the colour rules to match your terminology.

See The BRAG status system for the full picture.
