Save a run as a template
Sometimes a one-off inspection — built ad-hoc, run once for a particular reason — turns out to be useful enough to repeat. Rather than re-typing the items, save the run as a new template.
- Open the inspection (run).
- From the kebab menu (⋯), click Save as template.
- Give the new template a name and (optionally) a description.
- Save.
A new template appears in the Templates list with the same sections and items. The original run is unchanged.
When is this useful
Section titled “When is this useful”- An incident investigation triggers an ad-hoc check (“audit all workshop ladders right now”). The check finds gaps. You want to schedule the same check quarterly going forward.
- A subcontractor inducts a new site with a one-off walkthrough. After-the-fact, you realise it’s the perfect new starter template.
- You ran an inspection from a template, then heavily customised it for one site. The custom version is now better than the original and should become the reusable template.
What gets copied
Section titled “What gets copied”- Sections and their order.
- Items and their order, including notes-required flags.
- The template title and category (you’ll usually rename).
What does not get copied:
- Pass / Fail / N-A responses from the run.
- Notes from the run.
- Attachments from the run.
- Linked actions from the run.
