Raise an action from a finding

The most useful actions are the ones that come from real findings. SteadyOn lets you raise an action from a hazard, incident, or inspection so the link is preserved automatically.

This is the fastest path. While conducting the inspection:

  1. On the Conduct tab, mark an item as Fail.
  2. Click Raise action in the row.
  3. A small inline dialog opens with title pre-filled from the item text.
  4. Adjust title, set priority and due date, pick an assignee.
  5. Save.

The action is created, linked back to the inspection item, and appears in the Actions list.

After investigating:

  1. Open the incident’s detail page.
  2. Switch to the Related tab.
  3. Click + Add related.
  4. Pick Action as the type, then Create new.
  5. Fill in the action wizard, with Type typically set to Corrective.
  6. Save.

The link is bidirectional: the incident shows the action; the action shows the incident.

Same flow as incidents:

  1. Open the hazard.
  2. Related tab → + Add relatedActionCreate new.
  3. Fill in the wizard.
  4. Save.

This is how you turn a recommended control on a hazard’s Control tab into a tracked, due-dated task.

If the action already exists (someone raised it standalone or from another source) but isn’t linked yet:

  1. Open the source entity (hazard / incident / inspection).
  2. Related tab → + Add related → pick the type → search for the existing row.
  3. Save.

The link is what gives an inspector or auditor a complete story. From a single inspection report, they can see the failure, the action raised, the verification, and the closeout date — without ever needing you to find the email thread.
